Now I will assume you have found your way to this page because you are completely new to internet marketing and want to learn how to setup a website.
You may have even tried to do it before but got confused and stressed or it was just to complicated. Well the good news is that building a website has gotten easier and easier over the years and it can be done in less than an hour.
We you first start learning anything new there is always a learning curve, plenty of errors and sleepless nights trying to figure out why it’s not working. This is normal and this is going to be the way it is forever.
Even the more experienced Marketer still hit road blocks and need to stop everything and educate themselves before they can move on. This is one really big reason why they are successful at this game, they see road blocks as a way to learn a new skill and then turn that into an asset or product.
So what I’m saying is before you embark on the journey of building a new website realize that you are going to get frustrated, errors will occur but in the end your site will get finished and it will look great. Design the site towards it’s intended purpose.
Imagine your audience and market to them in a way where you come across as a real human with feeling, emotions and opinions. This will help to align yourself with your site visitor to better improve your on site engagement and overall return readers.
Well, Lets begin with the basics
When it comes to internet marketing and being successful at it you really should start with trying to establishing a presence online. The best way to do this is to start your own blog, so when people come to your site you can share helpful stuff about your chosen niche and a little about yourself.
What I would be trying to do is to write a useful and unique post 1 – 2 times per week, after a while you will become the go to guy or gal for your chosen niche. Once your presence is established you can then start to promote your own product and/or Affiliate products.
This is the very first place to start, so to help you out I have recorded a quick video on the basic steps on how to setup your own blog. This is a basic guide and for more detailed information on a particular part of your setup process you can email me directly or go to Google or even Youtube and I’m sure you will find the answer you are after.
How To Setup Your Own Blog
- For Hosting and Domains I use Goddady but any will do. Click Here For Godaddy
- To get Header images and other images for you blog go to GFX1 Here or Fiverr.com.
So once you have gotten your domain, hosting and are making a start on your new website you are going to need to think about your pages and posts. First of all what are site pages and posts.
Well the pages are things like your home page, contact page, about page, resources, information etc. These are generally static and once built never really get touched except for occasional updates and changes.
These types of pages don’t tend to get returning visitors because once they have seen it and read the information then they will no longer need to return. This is true for most static page but not so for pages like software pages or search pages and resources. They are used over and over because they are offering a service.
Now when it comes to posts these are slightly different in the sense that posts are written more often and are perceived to be fresher content. They usually cover one topic and are updated constantly.
So let’s get you started on the next step in setting up your new website:
Okay so now we are going to start to put some content on your personal blog. In this training video I will be showing you how to add and edit posts and pages so you blog will start to take shape and get some regular followers.
This is fairly simple but I thought I would cover this before we move onto monetizing your blog.
Remember when writing your content try to give answers to common questions, be interesting and offer great value for your potential readers. If you do all this well you will get lots of people returning to your site to see what you have written next.
It’s also important when you are creating pages remember that it will be more static and therefore the information is portrayed in a completed way. Where as with post’s it may stay there for a few days and then when you write the next one the first will get pushed down below the new one.
So by creating more and more content on a regular basis is the key to getting loyal readers and subscribers. We will venture into list building in more detail in another post but your first focus is getting the content written and making sure it’s 100% unique and good.
How To Add Post’s And Pages
Now that you should have your site up and live with a few pages and posts all done it’s time to move onto fine tuning your website or blog. This is important so you can effect the look and make it appeal to your visitors. Not only is the aesthetics important but the functionality of your site is also important.
Okay so lets move onto fine tuning your newly made website.
Okay in this section and training video I will show you how to fine tune your blog. I will show you in more detail the plugins that you should be using and how to set each one of them up.
I will also explain in more detail about your widgets area and how to configure this area, which widgets are needed and the one’s that I recommend. Some of the other things I will cover as well will be how to add images and change there sizes and borders, how to add links to direct people to other sites and pages.
How To Fine Tune Your Blog
Here is a quick reference of the plugins that I covered in the training video:

In the next training video I will show you how to sign up to an affiliate account at 2 of the leading Affiliate marketplaces and how to get your links to start promoting products, this will then enable us to move onto how to monetize your blog and start earning some money.
Okay now that your blog has had a few tweaks and changes it’s time to start considering monetizing it.
Note: I personally would not monetize a new blog or website straight away. I would provide great content, fresh content and build up a small reader base from there I would slowly implement an email list building strategy and then look at on site monetizing.
I will be covering Email List Building and how I would implement email list building on more site in great detail in a different post so be sure to keep an eye out for that.
For now let’s assume that you have been adding content for a few weeks and your are starting to see a little results in the traffic department. Now we will look at the on site ways to monetize. Before we do that we need to select a product to promote from one of the thousands of marketplaces on offer.
Finally we are getting to the good stuff, How to make money from your blog. So as the the title of this page suggests I will be showing you the first steps in turning your plain blog into a money making machine.
In this video I will be showing you how to sign up to an affiliate marketplace, get your affiliate links, cloak them and then how to place simple text links on your post’s and pages.
So lets get started, watch the video below:
How To Monetize Your Blog – Step 1
So there you have it a very basic look at getting your links and placing some on your website by simply using text links. Nothing special or exciting there but they work. You can track your clicks and the number of visitors you send to each of these affiliate offers from within your websites dashboard.
So with more testing and tweaking, from changing the text link size, wording or positioning can bring in different results. You need to test these things and see what works the very best for your website visitors.
Now lets move onto some more ways to monetize your site. We will be looking at how to ad banners and images to your site that are clickable. Now I have covered some old school methods of doing this as so many affiliate offers don’t come with the needed html code to make getting it on your page easy.
In this How To section I will be showing you the next step in monetizing your blog. We will be learning how to add Banners and product boxes onto your site that are cloaked with your affiliate link.
There are 2 ways of doing this and the first is pretty easy which is when the product you are promoting has given you the banner or product box image as a html code with your affiliate link embedded in it.
The other way is to upload the product image to your site and generate a html code yourself making sure we include our affiliate link in it. Please watch the video below where I show you how to do both of these methods.
How To Monetize Your Blog Step 2
So I hope that you have learned something from this video training. I will be covering how to create and build a list from your new blog in coming posts and then we will be moving onto how to get more visitors to your blog.
This in turn is going to help you grow your lists fast, increase sales and more and more people will begin to share your blog.
